Pure Storage just announced

Pure Storage just announced the launch of Pure Storage Cloud Data Services, a suite of new cloud offerings that runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). As the firm emphasizes, “thanks to these new products, customers can invest in a single storage architecture that unifies the deployments of local applications (on-premises) and in the cloud to convert data to value in a flexible way virtually from anywhere".

“Currently, there is a dividing line in the cloud. On the one hand, the cloud was not built specifically for business applications, and on the other, the business infrastructure is not as user-friendly as the cloud, ”explains Charles Giancarlo, President and CEO of Pure Storage. “Customers must be able to make infrastructure decisions based on what is best for their environment, not limited by what the technology can do or where it is hosted. Today's announcement extends Pure's data-centric architecture to the cloud, enabling our customers to build hybrid applications that give them true mobility and freedom. "

Pure Storage's goal with this solution is for companies to have “the right data strategy”. To do this, the firm unifies the cloud and provides a common set of data services for local storage and the cloud, offering consistent storage capacity, application programming interfaces (APIs) and resilience, thereby applications can be created once and run anywhere.

Among the solutions that this solution incorporates is Cloud Block Store for AWS (high-powered block storage that runs on AWS), CloudSnap for AWS (protection of data in the cloud, integrated directly into Pure FlashArray) and StoreReduce (deduplication technology of cloud-native data, designed for cloud backup).

With this solution, companies can more easily migrate applications to the cloud, build and run hybrid on-premises and in the cloud, use the cloud for backup and disaster recovery, and develop applications at scale. more complex webs that take advantage of advanced storage capabilities such as data reduction, snapshot copying, and multi-zone replication.
